How to translate the superlative and the comparative in French?

Comment traduire les superlatifs et les comparatifs en Français?

A – For the superlative, it’s easy; it depends on the gender and on the plural of the objects being described.

1 – Use le plus in front of the adjective describing a masculine noun.

Exemple. C’est le garçon le plus gentil de la classe: he is the nicest  boy in the class.

2 – Use la plus in front of the adjective describing a feminine noun.

Exemple. C’est l’actrice la plus intelligente de l’Hexagone. She is the most clever actress in the hexagonone!

Lyon est la troisième plus grande ville de France avec une population estimée à 515 700 habitants.

3 – Use les plus in front of the adjective for a plural

Exemple. Ce sont les voisins les plus obligeants du quartier. They are the most helpful neighbours in the area!

B – For the comparative use the following rule:

1 more… than = plus… que

2less.. than = moins… que

3 as… as = aussi…que

1 He is more respectful than his friend: il est plus respectueux que son copain.

English is easier to learn than Russian: l’anglais est plus facile à apprendre que le Russe..(Il est plus facile d’apprendre l’anglais que le russe)

My auntie Hannah is less fun that my auntie Ursula: Ma tante Hannah est moins rigolote que ma tante Ursula. 

3 My cat is as silly as yours!: mon chat est aussi bête que le tien!
